Refinement Perio Range

Electric toothbrushes and small interproximal brushes have contributed to the increase in patient oral health and this general improvement means that the epithelial collar can often be very tight; as a result, it is therefore difficult to access subgingival plaque and calculus. These areas can be difficult to access with the old style of instrument, as the blades can be too large and can either traumatise or be inclined to leave a small amount of stain around the edge of the elongated clinical crown.

DENTSPLY Ash Instruments decided to address this problem with their new Refinement™ range. The periodontal instruments are slimmer in order to access smaller recesses and the toes of the working ends are not only slimmer, but also shorter by up to 60%.

Refinement Restorative Range

With the widespread and increasing use of adhesive restorative systems and an international surge of interest in the application of minimal intervention techniques, a fresh approach to dental hand instrumentation could be considered long overdue. Instruments designed for use with traditional restorative materials suffer certain limitations when used to apply today's material in cavities, many of which have dimensions smaller than the functional elements of conventional instruments. The Refinement Restorative range are designed to permit fine detailed restorative work on the smallest of cavities.
