Before using Flexichange, I was using a real selection of instruments. I mainly worked with stainless steel scalers (both single and double ended). After seeing an advert and reading about the new Flexichange range of silicone-handled instruments, I decided it was time to change and so I made contact with DENTSPLY to find out more about these new instruments and where I could find them.
My collection of scalers were looking tired and worn and the repetitive sharpening they had received over time meant that it was time to either replace the scaling tips with new ones or buy new scalers.
The new Flexichange instruments appealed to me for several reasons. Not only did they feel good but they looked great too! The texture of the handle made for an easy, comfortable and secure grip. The weight and balance of the scalers was favourable too; heavy enough to recognise that this was a good quality product, yet not too heavy to loose the vital tip sensitivity needed for fine scaling and nor were they too heavy to cause fatigue. The material of the handles means you apply a less tiring grip, which I've found helps reduce the effect of repetitive strain injury.
I previously had to rely on coloured rubbed bands for instrument identification. The bright and modern colour handles of Flexichange meant an even quicker retrieval of my chosen instruments for the task in hand much more satisfactory than shuffling through unwanted scalers! And so now, at the end of an appointment, a happy Hygienist leads to a happy Patient!
So the crucial question, would I re-purchase Flexichange? Yes, I definitely would and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to my colleagues.
